May 9, 2025The Global AI Bootcamp is a celebrated annual phenomenon, uniting developers and AI enthusiasts worldwide for immersive learning through workshops, sessions, and vibrant discussions. Hosted by passionate local chapters of the Global AI Community, the 2025 edition, held across March and April, truly showcased the electrifying power of shared knowledge. While the Bootcamp spanned the globe with an impressive 167 events across 48 countries, the spotlight shines brightly on the phenomenal contributions and infectious energy emanating from Greater China.
Greater China’s AI Enthusiasm Unleashed!
Making their debut in the Global AI Bootcamp scene as part of the Season of AI, the community in Greater China didn’t just participate – they absolutely dominated. Our incredible Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVPs and Regional Directors) spearheaded an astounding 12 Global AI Bootcamps across the region, featuring insights from over 35 MVP speakers. The response was overwhelming: around 1,000 individuals gathered in person for deep dives into the evolving world of Artificial Intelligence, complemented by tens of thousands more joining the wave of learning online. With a packed agenda boasting over 40 insightful sessions and more than a dozen hands-on workshops, the region’s thirst for AI knowledge and collaborative spirit was palpable.
Spotlight on Regional Triumphs:
- Beijing’s AI Convergence: On March 15th, Beijing hosted a landmark event by MVP Haifei Liu and Like Liu, drawing over 200 AI funs, industry professionals, and keen enthusiasts. The focus was sharp: cutting-edge AI technology and its tangible real-world applications. Sessions, including an introduction to Azure AI and AI Foundry by Microsoft’s Technical Director Ting Li, left attendees buzzing, with feedback highlighting the immense learning value and crucial connections forged.
- East China’s Power Trio (Shanghai/Hangzhou/Ningbo): Between March 8th and 15th, MVPs Hu Hao, Shi Jiong, and Xiang Bin orchestrated dynamic events across these cities. They explored the latest in open-source large models, Phi-4 multi-modal applications, AI agent hardware control, and Microsoft Cloud-based RAG practices, engaging audiences both online and offline. The sessions also delved into Microsoft Fabric’s newest features and AI-enhanced .NET development.
Chongqing’s Resounding Success: Led by Woman MVP/RD Yiting ZHU, the Chongqing event welcomed over 150 participants eager to learn about AI development, large language models, GitHub Copilot, and practical AI business cases through talks and hands-on labs. The feedback was exceptional, with 94% of respondents expressing high satisfaction. Attendees shared powerful testimonials:

- “Learned the principles of AI generative models and how they work. Using AI is an essential skill in this era.”

Shenzhen & GBA’s .NET Focus: On March 22nd, Shenzhen became a hub for the Greater Bay Area’s .NET developers. Co-hosted by SciSharp, AIDotNet, and the Intel Innovation Center, the event featured new MVPs and experts discussing deep learning with TorchSharp, .NET agent development, prompt engineering, and multi-agent applications using BotSharp organized by MVP Shanyou Zhang. It highlighted how the .NET ecosystem, with tools like ML.NET and Semantic Kernel, is becoming a vital foundation in the AI era, empowering developers to build intelligent applications more efficiently.
Yantai’s Industry Deep Dive: Organized by MVP Yi Mingzhi on March 23rd, the Yantai event tackled how to translate cutting-edge AI into real-world productivity. Focusing on large model applications, personal and enterprise adoption, and the latest industry tech, it drew over 70 diverse attendees—from entrepreneurs and executives to engineers and students—exploring AI-driven business paradigms.
Taoyuan’s Trailblazing Event: Taiwan marked its first Global AI Bootcamp in Taoyuan on March 1st! Four Microsoft AI MVPs shared expertise on RAG, GitHub Copilot, AI agents, and Azure AI services. Attendees were captivated by live demos and enjoyed the keynote video from headquarters.

HongKong
The Global AI Bootcamp 2025 in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) promises an exciting lineup of insightful talks and interactive workshops. Notable contributors include Cyrus Wong, a senior lecturer and Microsoft MVP in Azure AI, as well as Ms. Ou Zhiyu, the Organizer of the Global AI Community Hong Kong and a talented student with expertise in cloud computing. With over 70 participants expected, the event aims to cultivate collaboration and enrich learning experiences.
Tokyo’s Vibrant Chinese Community Event: Organized by Chinese MVP Suwei Gui and the Tokyo Generative AI Community, this event attracted over 120 developers, researchers, and professionals in person, plus 30+ online. Experts, including MVPs and startup founders, discussed everything from generative AI to real-world applications. Lively discussions and networking buzzed throughout, showcasing the strength and enthusiasm of Tokyo’s AI community. One organizer noted, “The energy continued through networking breaks, with attendees and speakers deep in conversation about AI.”
