Why AI, Why Now? 

AI isn’t just a buzzword anymore—it’s a policy priority. Executive orders and budget pressures are pushing agencies to modernize. But let’s be real: federal teams are overwhelmed. Manual processes, siloed systems, and compliance demands are stretching everyone thin.

What Is Copilot, Really? 

Think of Copilot as your AI-powered assistant that lives inside the Microsoft apps you already use—Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and more. 

• It doesn’t replace you—it works with you. 

• It helps you work faster, make better decisions, and reduce mental load. 

• It respects your permissions and data boundaries. 

Key Concepts: 

• Prompting: How you talk to Copilot (e.g., “Summarize this email”). 


• Agent: An AI system that can act on your behalf using context and goals (e.g. “Send a status report every Monday”). 


• Microsoft Graph: The brain that connects your data across apps. 

Copilot Flavors: Know the Difference 

If you’re in a federal agency, M365 Copilot is the one you want—it’s secure, compliant, and deeply integrated. 

Real-World Use Case: HR in Action 

Let’s say you’re an HR manager. You need to: 

• Review resumes 


• Draft job descriptions 


• Schedule interviews 


• Summarize candidate emails 

With Copilot, you can: 

• Summarize long email threads in Outlook 


• Draft polished job descriptions in Word 


• Present status reports in PowerPoint with speaker notes and visuals 


• Analyze applicant data in Excel—no formulas needed 


• Build agents in Copilot Studio to automate resume screening

Security & Compliance 

One of the top questions we got was: 
“Where is my data stored, and is it used to train the model?” 

✅ Your data stays within your M365 tenant 
✅ It is not used to train the AI model
