Microsoft has been investing in PostgreSQL since 2019, building one of the largest corporate teams of upstream contributors in the world. Today, our engineers are among the top code committers and reviewers to PostgreSQL core (19 contributors!), shaping features that millions of developers rely on. 

Just in the upcoming PostgreSQL 18 release, Microsoft’s team has already contributed: 

• 537 code commits (authored or co-authored by 14 Microsoft engineers) 

• 948 code reviews done by Microsoft engineers (18% of the total)
