May 22, 2025As mentioned in the previous blog post, Exchange Online will soon discontinue the use of Exchange legacy tokens as a method that Outlook add-ins can use to authenticate to our service. Outlook add-ins used with Exchange Online will have to use Nested App Authentication (NAA) instead. This impacts Exchange Online only. Details are in the FAQ.
A few days ago, we updated our documentation that now includes a way for tenant administrators to get the list of app IDs that are still requesting (and receiving) Exchange legacy tokens by running the following in Exchange Online PowerShell:
Get-AuthenticationPolicy -AllowLegacyExchangeTokens
