How to build long-running MCP tools on Azure Functions
July 2, 2026Protect sensitive data in motion across SaaS and AI apps with Microsoft Purview and Microsoft Entra
July 2, 2026Welcome back. As AI continues to reshape how organizations listen, understand, and respond, this month’s edition focuses on helping you turn employee feedback into meaningful action with Viva Glint & Pulse. Inside you’ll find what’s newly available, an early look at what’s coming next, and the latest thinking to help you measure what matters and sustain momentum across your employee experience strategy.
New on your Viva Glint platform
This section highlights new capabilities now available to help you strengthen Copilot experiences, reporting, and administrative control in Viva Glint.
Survey Access: Seamless Entra authorization for MTO organizations. This new feature simplifies the sign-in experience for multitenant organizations and support users by introducing automatic tenant discovery. This new experience reduces reliance on MTO policies, lowers admin overhead, and aligns Viva Glint access with standard Microsoft 365 sign in—delivering a more scalable and seamless authentication experience. For scenarios where users need to explicitly access a different tenant (for example, guest or support access) or there may have access to more than a single Glint instance with their credentials, domain selection remains available to ensure flexibility and control. For more information visit: Access the Viva Glint platform, Sign in as a support user and Viva Glint for a multitenant organization FAQ.
Data management: Custom data retention policy. Viva Glint admins can now configure a data retention policy for their Glint instance, defining how long Glint survey data is retained before it is deleted, in line with your organizational and compliance requirements. This gives you clear, self-serve control over your data lifecycle without depending on manual processes or support requests. For more information, visit: Manage General Settings in Viva Glint | Microsoft Learn
Reporting: “Select All” toggle for report filters. The “Select All” option in the reporting filter panel is now generally available. With one click, users can select or clear every attribute value, removing the pain of managing filters with long value lists, speeding up analysis, and reducing manual effort for everyone who works in reports.
User data uploads: Ingestion advisories in audit activity logs. Viva Glint audit activity logs now provide enhanced visibility into successful data imports with a downloadable “processed file details report”. With this feature, admins can quickly review processed, updated, or partially ingested records for SFTP and MODIS user data imports, making routine validation faster and reducing the guesswork around what records were or were not processed. Learn more here.
*Managing user deletes in viva Glint. We have extended the pause for processing of user delete signals from Microsoft Entra in Viva Glint until September 31, 2026, and as a result, we will not be automatically deleting any employee data from Viva Glint. In the meantime, if you would like to manually delete any user data from Viva Glint, follow the instructions here: Responding to Data Subject Requests (DSRs) in Viva Glint.
Coming soon to Viva Glint
The following section offers an early look at capabilities coming to Glint — shaping the future of Copilot experiences, reporting, benchmarking, and enterprise-scale data integration.
Smarter comment theme detection, powered by Copilot | Generally available in July. *Please note this feature was previously referred to as “Dynamic Topics with Copilot” in the Coming Soon…section in previous newsletters. Based on customer and internal input and feedback gathered during private preview, the Product team has adjusted the scope of this feature as per below.
Soon we’re introducing Copilot-enhanced topic assignment in Microsoft Viva Glint. This feature uses Copilot to assign topics to employee feedback comments more effectively. In addition to the enhancement, the standard topic taxonomy will be expanded with five new topics: Psychological Safety, Artificial Intelligence, Privacy & Data Use, Hybrid Work, Ethics. This capability will be controlled by the existing Glint Copilot VFAM toggle (there is no separate feature-level toggle for Copilot-enhanced topic assignment). If the Glint Copilot VFAM toggle is enabled for your organization, Copilot-enhanced topic assignment will be enabled for all applicable users. If the Copilot VFAM toggle is not enabled for your organization the experience will not change. These enhancements will apply only to ad-hoc and recurring survey types at launch with always on survey types to follow in a later release.
Enhanced report exports: Heatmaps to PowerPoint, PDF, and PNG | Generally available in July. Soon, managers and results owners will be able to export survey results, including Heatmap reports, as polished PowerPoint, PDF, and PNG files. This makes it far easier to share results with your team, cascade insights to leadership, and build branded presentations without rebuilding visuals by hand.
Refreshed global benchmarks | Generally available in July/August. As part of our annual benchmark cycle, Global benchmarks will be refreshed using Viva Glint survey data collected from July 2025 through June 2026 giving you current, reliable external comparisons in your reporting. No setup is required, and this follows the recent Industry, Region and Country benchmark suite refresh.
As a reminder, to access external benchmark comparisons in reporting, customers must opt in to benchmarking. Opting in increases the overall benchmark data pool, improves data coverage, and supports a broader set of benchmark suites. Customers who have not opted in won’t be able to view or include external benchmarks in their reports.
Copilot-supported commenting for survey takers | Private preview ongoing, generally available later this summer. Soon, Viva Glint survey participants will be able to use an in-survey Copilot experience to polish their written feedback (please note: this capability is not available for respondents accessing surveys via attribute-based login or personalized links). Copilot can rephrase comments so employees can communicate more clearly and with greater confidence. By helping reduce distinctive writing patterns and making it easier to provide thoughtful input, the feature can increase comfort and perceived privacy, driving higher participation, richer responses, and more candid insights that organizations can act on.
Continuous engagement: Map workplace and Copilot metrics to your questions | Private preview ongoing. Improve actionability for Work-Life Balance and Collaboration focus areas by integrating Viva Insights workplace metrics into Viva Glint reporting. This feature will help Senior Leaders in your organization access supplementary data points, in conjunction with survey responses, to better understand their team’s experience and conduct more data-driven discussions on what can be improved in these areas. Between survey cycles, leaders can also enable notifications to keep track of changes in their team’s workplace patterns, allowing them to keep a better pulse on behavior change commitments. Future capabilities will include the ability to map Viva Insights and Copilot metrics to survey items and bring in additional data sources from M365, such as meeting metadata and content.
Glint integration with Microsoft Organizational Data Ingestion System (MODIS) | Public preview in mid-July. This capability gives customers a unified data ingestion pipeline across Microsoft 365 apps, including Viva Glint, Copilot, Copilot Analytics, and Viva Insights. With this capability, we are enabling seamless consumption and mapping of organizational attributes in Microsoft 365 with Glint attributes and will enable automated data ingestion to Viva Glint and other Microsoft 365 applications through a broad set of connectors, including Workday, SuccessFactors, ADLS, and APIs. The MODIS integration works alongside existing SFTP data pipelines, thus avoiding any disruptions to existing flows and enables frictionless onboarding. The public preview will roll out in phases and will initially be available to non-GCC customers with a single Viva Glint instance in their tenant. Organizations interested in joining the public preview can complete this brief interest form to share their onboarding scenario, integration requirements, and readiness: Viva Glint MODIS Integration Preview – Fill out form
Introducing the Viva Glint Admin Assistant, powered by Copilot | Generally available later this summer. A new AI-powered Copilot experience will be embedded directly in the Viva Glint admin experience, helping administrators navigate configuration tasks with contextual, step-by-step guidance grounded in Microsoft Learn content. Selecting the Copilot entry point opens a familiar slide-out conversational panel — reducing back-and-forth with documentation and helping admins move faster and with greater confidence. This first phase delivers an instructional assistant, with coaching and action-taking capabilities planned for future releases.
Additional admin controls for user-delete data handling | Generally available later this summer. We’re continuing to expand control over the data lifecycle, including the ability to retain a user’s email and employee ID after they’re removed from Glint (preserving historical reporting accuracy), and ensuring user-delete configurations honor the toggle values in effect at the exact time of deletion. Together, these give admins more predictable, compliant handling of user data.
Raw Data Export API Egress | Private preview ongoing. Unlock seamless, automated access to raw survey data—no more manual downloads. Built on Microsoft Graph, these APIs make integrations easier and help admins move faster with greater efficiency. Express your interest here.

June 25th – Notification Delivery Visibility in Microsoft Glint
Target Audience: Glint admins who manage survey communications and notifications, particularly those involved in monitoring survey participation and troubleshooting notification delivery issues
The Viva Glint product team shared early designs for a new Notification Delivery Visibility capability aimed at helping administrators understand whether survey communications are being successfully delivered and what actions to take when issues occur. Customers provided extensive feedback that is directly influencing the feature roadmap.
What was presented:
- A phased approach to improving notification transparency in Viva Glint.
- Phase 1 focuses on visibility, giving admins insight into delivery status, including delivered, pending, and failed notifications, estimated completion times, and the ability to export affected recipient lists.
- Phase 2 introduces troubleshooting and actionability, helping admins understand failure causes, view issue summaries, receive remediation guidance, and resend notifications when appropriate.
Key customer feedback:
- Customers strongly valued visibility into overall notification health, particularly during active survey cycles when participation rates appear lower than expected.
- Several attendees requested the ability to view delivery status for individual employees, enabling support teams and survey administrators to quickly verify whether a specific invite was sent and delivered. This scenario had not been a primary design focus and generated significant discussion.
- Customers emphasized the importance of keeping diagnostic information understandable and avoiding overly technical details, while still providing enough information to determine whether an issue requires help from Exchange or IT administrators.
- Participants generally preferred experiences that provide a high level summary first with the option to drill into more detailed delivery information when needed.
