Meet Aryan Jaiswal, who recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad (IIIT Dharwad) in Karnataka, India.

This is the next segment in our blog series highlighting graduating Microsoft Student Ambassadors who achieved the Senior milestone, the highest level in the program. Each blog features a different Senior Ambassador and explores how the program helped shape their technical skills, leadership experience, professional growth, and future career opportunities.

How has being part of the Microsoft Student Ambassadors community helped you connect with other tech enthusiasts and expand your global network?

When I joined the Microsoft Student Ambassadors program, I honestly did not even know the program existed. I was just a curious student who loved technology and wanted to build things.

Over the last two years, that curiosity turned into opportunities I never imagined. Through this community, I got to connect with Ambassadors, mentors, Microsoft employees, MVPs, startup founders, and students from different parts of the world.

I collaborated on AI projects, community campaigns, workshops, and initiatives with people I would have never met otherwise. Many of those collaborations eventually turned into genuine friendships.

One of the most meaningful experiences for me was founding the Microsoft Student Ambassador Chapter at IIIT Dharwad. It allowed me to create opportunities for students on my campus, mentor others, and help them discover the same community that changed my life.

Looking back, the biggest thing I gained was never just a global network. I found lifelong mentors, friends, and a community that genuinely believed in me.

What impact did access to Microsoft tools and resources, such as Azure credits, Visual Studio Enterprise, and Copilot, have on your growth as a technology leader?

As a student, I could never have afforded the cloud infrastructure needed to experiment at scale. The Azure credits I received as a Microsoft Student Ambassador changed that completely. They gave me the freedom to deploy applications, explore different Azure services, and learn how to use Azure through both the Azure Portal and the Azure CLI.

Instead of just following tutorials, I was able to build, break things, experiment, and understand how real cloud applications are deployed and managed. Today, some of my biggest AI applications are deployed on Azure, and that hands-on experience gave me the confidence to work with cloud technologies in real-world projects.

Copilot became a tool I used regularly while exploring new technologies, improving my development workflow, and learning faster. Visual Studio and Microsoft learning resources made it easier to build better applications while continuously improving my skills.

These resources also helped me become a better community leader. Whether I was organizing AI workshops, mentoring students, leading AI projects, or judging hackathon submissions, I could confidently introduce others to technologies that I had personally explored and used.

The confidence I gained through Microsoft’s ecosystem also helped me become India’s only Gold Startup Scout for Microsoft for Startups, where I referred eight startups across different domains and helped founders unlock Microsoft Azure credits and startup benefits.

In what ways has the Student Ambassadors program strengthened your resume, boosted your confidence, or helped you develop skills that will support your future career?

This program gave me much more than achievements on my resume. It changed who I am. I joined as someone who simply wanted to learn. Now, I graduate as a Senior Microsoft Student Ambassador.

Along the journey, I had the opportunity to found and lead the Microsoft Student Ambassador Chapter at IIIT Dharwad, organize 25+ AI, cloud, and developer events, both online and offline, mentor thousands of students, lead and judge AI projects, collaborate with ambassadors from around the world, receive a Letter of Recommendation from Pablo Veramendi, participate in the Microsoft AI Tour Bengaluru, become part of a Guinness World Record through Microsoft’s AI Skills Fest, lead an international JS-AI Build-a-thon troop of more than 80 participants, win both the Overall Winner and People’s Choice Awards, be invited to share my experience through a blog on the Microsoft Tech Community, and serve as India’s only Gold Startup Scout, where I referred eight startups across various domains and helped each of them unlock $25,000 in Microsoft Azure credits.

All of these experiences definitely strengthened my resume. But the biggest achievement was the person I became. This community taught me how to build. How to lead. How to mentor. How to communicate. How to give back. And most importantly, how to believe in myself.

As I graduate from the program, I know one thing for sure—the title of Senior Microsoft Student Ambassador is something I’ll always be proud of, but the people I met, the lessons I learned, and the community I found are what I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life.
